An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences without having to regularly visit the website.

Alastair McEwan graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and was awarded his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham. He held a Science and Engineering Research Council NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Royal Society University Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford before moving to a lectureship at the University of East Anglia. Alastair joined the University of Queensland in 1993 and was promoted to Professor in 2003. He was Head of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences from 2005-2010. He has been Dean, UQ Graduate School since 2013, and is the present UQ Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Researcher Development). His research spans bacterial physiology and pathogenesis, redox biology and the role of transition metal ions in host-pathogen interactions. Alastair is currently a member of the Australian Council of Graduate Research Executive.
