Professor Alberto Troccoli provides strong national and worldwide leadership in the application of weather and climate information to improve global energy transition and environmental sustainability. Alberto has been leading a series of well received global conferences and various stakeholder engagement events in this field. He is also regularly called upon to lead, or contribute to, international project planning and formulation. Alberto has been substantially contributing to the weather and climate science and application literature as books editor, journal publications author and communicator. Alberto is co-founder and leader of the World Energy Meteorology Council (WEMC). Although manager of programs in Norwich, UK and Padua, Italy, he lives in Moggill, Brisbane, and is an active member of the local community. Alberto also has previous extensive working experience in CSIRO, Canberra, as a Principal Research Scientist. Professor Troccoli also has a distinguished career with the UN World Meteorological Organisation (WMO Geneva) where he was selected as Chair of the Study Group on Renewable Energy Systems. Alberto has a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Edinburgh, following a First Class Honours Degree (Laurea) in physics from University of Padova, Italy.
