Professor Perry was appointed Professor of Practice at QUT in the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice in 2023. Prior to this appointment, Professor Perry worked in school education for over forty years including more than 25 years as a Principal and nearly 8 years as a system leader.
Professor Perry has been involved in numerous reviews including the Gonski 2.0 review, Through Growth to Achievement, the STEM Partnerships Forum chaired by then Chief Scientist Professor Finkel, and the Queensland Government Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce. Professor Perry oversaw the co-ordination of the Queensland Catholic education response throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
